Common Leonic

Common Leonic, or just Leonic, is the mother tongue of the Leonid people, as well as being used prominently as a lingua franca across the Imperial States. It is a descendant of Lugho'arlan with strong influences from Classical Elvish.

Distribution and Varieties

Leonic is the dominant language spoken in the Kingdom of Leona outside of liturgical and academic contexts, where some variety of Elvish is often more popular. Following the Turf Wars, it has displaced local languages within the rest of the Meridán Coast, The Junta and much of Reseggia. It also has growing prominence in The Toreigne, but in other regions, it is often only spoken as a second language for the sake of intercultural communication and trade.
