Human

Humans are one of the most prominent races in Ittoril, especially throughout the Imperial States, where Humans of Leonid descent are generally referred to as Leonid Half-Elves.

Characteristics

Humans average around 5'6" in height, and 135 lbs in weight. Throughout the Imperial States, they generally have brown or olive skin, and in the Sita'arlan Desert, it is not uncommon for individuals to possess near-black skin.

Humans are considered one of the primary subspecies of Simisape within the evolutionary theory of Jan Silverstein.

Cultural Significance

Traditional racial theory of The Four Ways suggests that humans possess more strength (Giay Luy: Thănh) than other races.

Distribution

The Shahi'arla, populating the Sita'arlan Desert, are one of the oldest surviving groups of humans on Ittoril, and are divided into a number of nomadic clan groupings.

Shahi'arla ancestry spread to the Meridán Region through the Leonid Pilgrims, where, following the expansion of the Leonid Empire, humans are now present as a dominant ethnic group. From contact with the Sea Elves, this group came to possess trace amounts of Elven heritage, especially in individuals of high birth and so are commonly referred to as Leonid Half-Elves. They are a major presence across the Meridán Region and Stolidy Coast, as well as much of Reseggia.

The largely human population of The Golden Hills are unrelated to Leonid Half-Elves.
