Silversteel

Silversteel, known in Hill Dwarvish as Huskestål, is a synthetic material used in Dwarven Enchanting. Techniques for its creation originated in the Dwarven Woodlands.

Creation and Properties

Silversteel, as it is usually made, is an alloy of iron, silver, and charcoal from the burning of something magical. This is said to instill the Huskestoff from the original object into the alloy, either conveying its magical properties or making the result prone to later enchantments of a certain kind. Alternatively, large amounts of charcoal made from burning mundane items can be concentrated to create a generic kind of silversteel, prone to any enchantment.

Traditionally, the magical object is burnt in the same fire used to smelt the iron and silver.
